Bauerfeind AchilloTrain, Achilles bandage

Pain and irritation of the Achilles tendon are a widespread problem that can result from various causes. Complaints often arise from overuse, such as during intense sports activity or repeated incorrect loading in everyday life. Injuries or surgical procedures in the Achilles tendon area can also lead to persistent complaints. Another possible cause is the so-called Haglund's deformity – a bony deformity on the heel bone that leads to painful inflammations due to pressure and friction.

The AchilloTrain Achilles tendon bandage was specially developed to provide targeted support in such cases and promote the healing process. It consists of a high-quality, breathable, and skin-friendly train knit that adapts optimally to the individual foot shape due to its high elasticity. Thanks to its special material properties, the bandage fits snugly to the foot and follows every movement without slipping.

For comfortable wear, the edges of the AchilloTrain are designed to be soft and elastic. These prevent unpleasant cutting in and allow comfortable wear over longer periods. To avoid unnecessary pressure on sensitive areas, the foot area of the bandage has been deliberately shortened so that the sensitive 5th metatarsal bone is relieved. The flat-processed knit also ensures that the AchilloTrain can be comfortably worn under socks and fits into most everyday shoes. The practical grip recesses on the top of the pad additionally facilitate putting on and taking off the bandage.

A special feature of the AchilloTrain is the integrated pad with a special meander structure and massage knobs. This surrounds the Achilles tendon and extends to the muscle-tendon junction. As soon as the foot moves, the pad unfolds its beneficial effect in combination with the flexible knit: it exerts a gentle alternating pressure massage that specifically stimulates the local metabolism, promotes blood circulation, and stimulates the muscles. This can help to relieve tension, reduce swelling, and alleviate pain.

Possible areas of application:

• Achillodynia (e.g. tendinosis, paratendinitis, subachillean bursitis)
• Haglund's heel (inflammatory irritations caused by bony deformation of the heel)
• Chronic, post-traumatic or postoperative complaints in the area of the Achilles tendon, for example after an Achilles tendon rupture
• Inflammatory processes in the area of the Achilles tendon caused by overload or other factors
